The part-time (~15 hours/week) Accountant is responsible for all aspects of accounting, through financial statements, at Christ Church Episcopal, Hudson, OH, a tax exempt entity. S/he provides oversight of, and all accounting functions for, accounts receivable (church pledges and offerings, rental income, misc), accounts payable, payroll, invested funds, general ledger, and financial reporting. The individual reports administratively to the Rector and receives direction from the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer.

A. Summary of Position
Overview: The St. John’s Institute is seeking a creative, hands-on, self-starting individual to develop and manage a volunteer-supported, fundraising organization to augment this community based non-profit. The St. John’s Institute operates in an historic church building that is a documented former stop on the Underground Railroad. Located in the midst of a growing and diverse urban city neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, the Institute is a catalyst for building relationships across boundaries through the arts, spirituality, and community discourse.
Position Available: Administrative Assistant to work with the rector 20-25 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) during office hours at $12/hour. This position requires a minimum of two (2) years as an administrative assistant and proficiency in Word and Excel. Experience in internet email software such as Constant Contact/Vertical Response is highly recommended. Training can be provided.
