Jambalaya, Paczki & The Dixielanders on Shrove Tuesday at Trinity Cathedral
Tuesday, Feb. 17 6-8 p.m.
Trinity Cathedral is celebrating Shrove Tuesday this year with a New Orleans-style jambalaya dinner, Mardi Gras beads, mask-making and a live Dixieland band. Kids are welcome to join the Very Rev. Tracey Lind, Dean of the Cathedral, for a game of hide-and-seek in the Cathedral.
Chicken and sausage jambalaya, salad, Paczki, assorted beverages (wine as well as non-alcoholic options) are on the menu. Vegetarian options will be available. The Dixielanders will entertain guests and add to the pre-Lenten fun.
Shrove Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday) marks the end of the season of Epiphany. The penitential season of Lent begins the following day, so Shrove Tuesday is typically celebrated with revelry and rich foods. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. Donations will be accepted (suggested donations: $8/adult, $4/age 12 and younger). All are welcome to attend. Guests are asked to register online: http://tinyurl.com/ShroveTuesday-2015

Ash Wednesday Services
The following day, Feb. 18, Trinity Cathedral holds three Ash Wednesday services: 7:30 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. Eucharist will be celebrated with imposition of ashes at all services. Trinity Cathedral Choir will sing at the 6 p.m. service. The Rev. Kay Rackley presides at the 7:30 service; the Very Rev. Tracey Lind preaches at both the noon and 6 p.m. service. Following the 6 p.m. service, join us for a simple Lenten meal ($5 donation) in Cathedral Hall.
