Strengthening Ecumenical Partnerships to Benefit Those Seeking Employment

Barnabas Ecumenical Ministry is a consortium of Judeo Christian churches and ministries that have come together to assist job seekers in Northeast Ohio. The ministry was founded out of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Akron with the help of the associate rector, the Rev. Amjad Samuel and parishioner Peter DiMezza. Thanks to the support received through community partnerships with groups such as South Street Ministries—a local community renewal organization—and the local Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services establishment, Rockynol, Barnabas Ecumenical Ministry has seen 25 job seekers find employment in the last year! Last winter, Rockynol conducted their annual wreath sale fundraiser having decided to donate the proceeds to Barnabas Ecumenical Ministry. On Sunday, March 30, the Executive Director of Rockynol, Kara Hanzie, presented Barnabas Ecumenical Ministry with a check for $1,800!
