Grace Church, Sandusky, May 4 Concert & Exhibit Opening

Grace Episcopal Church is pleased to announce and invite you to its May 4, 2014, concert & exhibit opening. Both are free and open to the public. The concert will begin at 4 pm, followed by a reception and exhibit opening.

The concert features Victoria Wheeler, Soprano in a program titled "Shakespeare to Spirituals: A Sampling of 20th Century American Composers". The exhibit opening features works by guest artist, Efterpe Troupis and is titled "From the Roots Up".

The exhibit runs through May 28th and can be viewed weekdays from 10:30 am - 3 pm.

Defrocked: Still Faithful

Frank Schaefer, a former United Methodist Pastor from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, whose clergy credentials were revoked for performing the same-sex wedding of his son will be the featured speaker at an event designed to highlight what it means to be faithful in ministry in the midst of controversy over LGBTQ issues.

Jazz Vesper at St. Andrew's, Cleveland

St. Andrew's Church will host a Jazz Vesper featuring jazz vocalist Vanessa Rubin and friends on Sunday, May 18, at 6 PM. Rubin was born and raised in Cleveland to parents who were life-long Episcopalians and is a graduate of Ohio State University. Over the years, Vanessa has become an experienced Jazz performer and has brought joy to many with her music ability. Tickets cost $20, and can be purchased by calling St. Andrew's at 216-391-2632.

Peg Ager Honored at Good Shepherd, Lyndhurst

One of the highlights of the annual parish meeting at Church of the Good Shepherd, Lyndhurst, was the recognition and honor extended to Ms. Peg Ager. For 32 years, Peg served Good Shepherd in the area of finance and pledge upkeep. Always prompt and faithful, Peg gave her untiring time and energy serving her church in several positions. She continues to keep the church of the Good Shepherd close to her heart. In appreciation of Peg's services the church presented her with a plaque signed by all.
