The Diocese of Ohio is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion represented in the United States by The Episcopal Church.
The Episcopal Church of Ohio ministers in our Church and in our communities in many inspiring ways.
A CALL TO WORKS: Is St. James speaking to you?
“Lord, open our lips. And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.” The Nominating Committee for the 206th Annual Convention of the Diocese of Ohio asks you to open your lips and proclaim your praise through the nomination process for membership on one of our diocese’s elected bodies.
Our church continues to wrestle in faithfulness in its work for justice and peace. Your self-nomination or that of another gives the Church the diverse talents, and leadership skills enabling the Diocese of Ohio to face the issues of the pandemic, of reckoning with race-based violence, of continuing seeking prevention of the gun slaughter of our fellow citizens, and the elimination of the historic entrenched inequalities that our democratic republic continues to face. The election of a Bishop Coadjutor will enhance our focus on all of the above issues.
This is an opportunity for you (or your successful nominee) to participate in the life of our dynamic Church in new and exciting ways:
Pray, contemplate, and nominate yourself, or your neighbor (with permission), for one of these positions. To be included in the Convention Handbook, submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23.
We close this invitation for nominations with St. James’ blunt reminder, “For as the body without spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” (James 2:26) Please consider this call to works.
