The Wardens and Vestry of Trinity Cathedral are delighted to announce the election of the Reverend Bernard J. (BJ) Owens, IV as the Cathedral's 12th Dean. BJ and his family hope to be at Trinity by Christmas. The Holy Spirit has led us to this moment and now is a time to give thanks to God and prepare for the Owens family arrival.
Watch Cleveland's Vigil For Victims Of Synagogue Attack
Local clergy gathered on-stage in an act of solidarity. The group, including Mark Hollingsworth, the Episcopal bishop for Cleveland, spoke of the heartbreak of the incident at Tree of Life. "In response to these acts of evil, let us stand together, pray together, and act together to heal the world that God loves and has given us to share. Because we all belong to God, we belong to each other," he said.
Presiding Bishop’s statement on Tree of Life tragedy
We must pray, we must pray for him, we must pray for the spirit of our nation, that a spirit of love and compassion and goodness and decency would pervade, and that spirits of hatred and bigotry would be cast away. But, above all, at this time, pray for those who have died and for their families and their loved ones. Pray for those who are wounded. Pray for the first responders, pray for our brothers and sisters in the Jewish community. Pray for the Tree of Life synagogue. Pray for the City of Pittsburgh. Pray for America. Pray for us all.
A Message from the Bishop: Tree of Life Synagogue Shooting
In response to these acts of evil, let us come together, stand together, and act together to heal the world that God loves and has given us to share. Because we all belong to God, we all belong to each other.
