Messages from the Bishop, the President of the Standing Committee, and the Bishop Coadjutor-elect

Dear colleagues and friends,

Having received notice from the Presiding Bishop’s Office that sufficient consents have been received from Standing Committees and Bishops with Jurisdiction, we are delighted to report that the Rev. Anne B. Jolly is now Bishop Coadjutor-elect of the Diocese of Ohio!

Bishop-elect Anne will join us at the Winter Convocation February 3-4 to preach at the Convocation Eucharist and begin getting to know communicants and clergy in that wonderfully collegial setting. She will join the staff officially the following month, commencing with the House of Bishops meeting March 7-14. Between now and then, she and her husband, David, will get settled in Cleveland and the Transition Committee will continue to work on details of her Ordination and Consecration in preparation for that April 29 service and celebration.

Please keep Bishop-elect Anne and her family in your prayers as we move forward together in this exciting season of transition.

With every blessing of the Epiphany,

Ms. Pam O’Halloran
Standing Committee President

The Rt. Rev. Mark Hollingsworth, Jr.
Bishop of Ohio

Dear Ones,

I am delighted that the consents are in, and that we will be together soon! David and I are preparing to move to Cleveland, and the fabulous Transition Committee is working diligently on the details of the service where we will celebrate the beginning of our ministry together. I am excited to see and begin to get to know many of you at Winter Convocation in February. And I am thrilled to tell you that Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has accepted my invitation to preach at my ordination, so we can get ready to be inspired and energized by his invitation to be part of the Way of Love.

In the midst of all of that activity and excitement, I am eager to listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit as we dream and discern where God is calling us as a diocese. As we move forward together, let us dream of new ways to shape our congregations and equip our people so that we are beacons of hope, unity, joy, and reconciliation in a hurting world that so badly needs God’s grace and mercy.

Beloved, you are in my prayers each day, as I ask that you hold my family and me close in yours. Our journey together is beginning.

God’s peace,

Anne

The Rev. Anne B. Jolly
