The Rev. Monique Ellison is Canon Vicar of Christ Church Cathedral, Indianapolis, where she is responsible for working with ministry leaders, overseeing clergy and program staff, and ensuring seamless integration of mission and ministry with daily practices.

Monique has more than 20 years of ordained ministry experience. Most recently before the Cathedral, she was the Rector of St. Matthias and Church of the Messiah in Baltimore, Maryland, where she coached and empowered two congregations to join forces together for stronger ministry in the neighborhoods they serve. She is a Mentor at Backstory Preaching where she guides lay and ordained preachers, is a community organizer, and has gained expertise in congregational development and renewal. 

She lives with her wife, daughter, and ill-behaved dog.
