Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them and not to hide yourself from your own kin? Isaiah 58:6-7
This Becoming Beloved Community retreat on October 25-26 is for people seeking community, belonging, and restoration while building relationships with like-minded seekers of God in each face we see. We gather to practice being together as God’s beloved children, at peace with each other and all of creation on the beautiful Bellwether Farm. Bishops White and Jolly will be present for parts of the retreat and wholeheartedly support the collaborative work of our Ohio dioceses. Together, we will pray, worship, share stories, rest, share meals, and explore the farm as we practice being beloved community. Because we don’t want cost to be a barrier to attendance, the Diocese of Ohio is offsetting most of the $170 registration fee. Building beloved community is not easy, and we will, with God’s help. Please join us!
The retreat begins at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25 with check-in at Bellwether Farm, and concludes by 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26. Overnight accommodation and meals from dinner Friday through lunch Saturday included. Cost is $50 per person.
