Christ Church, Warren presents a special Black History Month concert celebrating the rich and powerful legacy of African-American composers through the grandeur of the pipe organ. Acclaimed organist Ralph Holtzhauser will perform on February 6 at 7:00 p.m. in a program dedicated to music that reflects both historical depth and contemporary vitality.
Ralph Holtzhauser is a distinguished organist and educator, renowned for his versatile performances, dynamic collaborations, and dedication to engaging new audiences. He serves as Diocesan Music Director for the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown and Music Director of the Cathedral of St. Columba. In 2023, he was appointed Professor of Organ in the Sacred Music Program at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he leads a thriving organ studio.
This Black History Month program will highlight the artistry and influence of African-American composers whose contributions have shaped—and continue to shape—the American sacred and concert music traditions. The concert is part of Christ Church’s ongoing Arts on Atlantic concert series, which seeks to present performances of the highest artistic quality while fostering community engagement. All are welcome to attend. For more information, please contact Christ Church at 330.372.4998.
