Every Monday, the members of Trinity, New Philadelphia serve hot meals to people who are unhoused or are in subsidized housing with limited means for food. On average 25-45 adults and children are fed. Jesus Mission Meals cooks the meals in the church kitchen, and the food is donated by the Tuscarawas Food Pantry and local businesses. These partnerships were brought together by parishioner Jack Ream, who was also a driving force behind the Friends of the Homeless shelter in New Philadelphia, and the Tuscarawas County Food Bank in Dover. To honor Jack, the founder of Friends of the Homeless, a new homeless shelter will be built and named “Jack’s House of Hope.” Members of the diocese are welcome to come join this community dinner any Monday evening.
