Christ Church, Oberlin offers freshly made meals through the Oberlin Weekday Community Meal (OWCM) held every Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The program began in 1983 as a sit-down group meal. However during the pandemic the church began offering takeout and drive-up options, and also offers delivery to Concord Manor, a low-income housing complex. The program allows attendees to take meals to others. Anyone can ask for additional meals and will receive them until the daily inventory runs out. The parish kitchen is run by two cooks, Tabatha Watson-Brown and Luis Allende, who spend their time finding and cooking fresh food, much of which is sourced from local farms and markets. The OWCM will celebrate its 40-year anniversary in 2023, and to honor that, the parish hopes to expand services and reopen the sit-down dinner as well as continue to offer drive-through and takeout options.
