Talked about for more than a decade, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church recently completed construction of a new 11,000-square-foot building.
To celebrate, the church is holding a grand opening in the form of a parish picnic from noon to 3:30 p.m. Sunday (June 9) at the 18001 Detroit Ave. location in Lakewood.
“It’s kind of an afternoon open house with food and games for kids,” the Rev. G. Keith Owen II said. “At the service that morning, we’ll recognize and thank all of the people who worked on the building. Then, at 3 p.m., our Bishop, Rt. Rev. Mark Hollingsworth Jr., is coming to formally dedicate it.
