A 38-person church mission group from Ohio has been in Venango County this week helping Mustard Seed Missions, Emmaus Haven and Catholic Rural Ministry with various projects.
The 29 teens in sixth through 12th grade, along with nine adults, came from six churches in the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio in northeast Ohio to do service projects.
But service is only part of the trip as the other part is the relationships the volunteers build with those they help and with each other.
The group's main project this week has been at the site of the new Family Service and Children's Aid Society PPC shelter in Franklin. The group has been working with Mustard Seed Missions to build a shed at the shelter.
