[From The Mansfield News Journal]
The Grace Episcopal Church food pantry began in the late 1990s with a Sunday school teacher who asked children to bring in canned goods for laid-off AK Steel workers to be given t, the Salvation Army for its feeding program.
Sunday school teacher Dorothy Ridley's idea exploded and her friend Pat Rader began to organize the canned food effort for the less fortunate.
The congregation helped and community partnerships formed. The church pantry became affiliated with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank in 2003.
