Summer Internships

The Episcopal Diocese of Ohio will be offering internships in the following areas:

Communications Intern

  • Assist in researching and developing social media ideas and content.
  • Brainstorm fun, innovative marketing concepts for the Diocese of Ohio and Bellwether Farm.
  • Review and share ideas about site maps for both websites.
  • Copywriting/editing for magazine, website, and electronic communications.
  • Generate ideas for the “Why Do We Do That” articles for Church Life magazine.
  • Engage in branding implementation.
  • Partake in event photography and videography.

Archive Intern

Continue organizing Archival Suite at Trinity Commons including creating files and sorting through material which has been submitted and is “backlogged.”

Other possibilities will be:

  • To continue our ongoing work of securing electronic copies of historical photographs and documents from every parish in our diocese. This will involve identifying and arranging working trips to up to 8 parishes during the summer of 2024. Our mobile archive (laptop and scanner) will provide “on site” tools for adding parish treasures to our diocesan archive collection.
  • Continue with the interview process of elder saints in the parishes across our diocese. We are looking to build upon the video/audio library of living history which was done in preparation for our 200th diocesan anniversary from 11/2016 - 11/2017. Access to automobile transportation as well as good people/communication skills along with a variety computer and organizational skills (scanning, videotaping to computer back up etc.) are necessary for this internship.

Digital Archive Intern:

Assist the Diocesan Archivist with creating a digital archive using the Bookeye V Scanner. Assist in assessing storage needs, and how to set up digital displays for our Diocesan Website. This position will involve communication with and working with our Canon for Communication and our Missioner for Communication. Good people skills as well as communication skills are necessary for this position. Computing and data retention and sharing are necessary for this summer internship.

For All Internships

Qualifications:

Completion of high school senior year or above; these internships are intended for young adults.

The most qualified applicants will:

  • Be detail oriented and organized.
  • Have initiative, creativity, and a sense of humor.
  • Be able to both take direction and function with minimal ongoing supervision.
  • Be flexible in accepting other duties as requested.

Specifics:

  • 20 hours a week for 10 weeks, May 28 – August 2. Specific weekly schedules can vary based on internship, but Tuesday afternoons are required.
  • Stipend: $12-15/hour depending on skills and previous experience.
  • Each intern will identify, develop, and create a capstone project over the course of the internship. Capstone projects will be presented to staff and guests at the end of the internship.
  • Interns will participate in weekly group reflection and formation. Specific religious affiliation is not necessary to be successful in this internship, although you will be working and learning in the context of Episcopal tradition.
