Introducing Regional Gatherings

At Convention, we announced that our Rhythms of Gathering discernment, along with our shared desire for greater connectivity, deeper formation, and stronger support for ministry across the Diocese of Ohio, has led us to replace Winter Convocation with Regional Gatherings beginning in 2026. Building on the legacy of Convocation, these new gatherings will strengthen relationships, support local collaboration, and cultivate the transformational work already happening in our communities of faith. Each Regional Gathering will include:

• Teaching and tools from the College for Congregational Development (CCD)
• Opportunities for worship, prayer, and connection
• Social and intergenerational events
• Cohort-based equipping for ministry leaders (treasurers, senior wardens, etc.)
• A celebration of Holy Eucharist with a regional confirmation
• Learning, fun, and community building for youth and children
• Opportunities to meet with members of the Bishop’s staff, individually and in groups

Registration is now open for the 2026 Regional Gathering in the Akron/Canton region, May 28-30, 2026. The event is being held at three parishes: Thursday at St. Paul's, Akron; Friday at St. Paul's, Canton; and Saturday at Christ Church, Hudson. This three-day experience is designed to strengthen the life of our faith communities through worship, shared meals, practical workshops, and connection across the Diocese of Ohio. With a regional confirmation at its heart, the gathering will bring together learning, community, and joy for people of all ages.

All are welcome to attend—from across the Diocese of Ohio. Participants may join the full gathering or attend one or two sessions. Workshops, the full schedule, and recommended hotel accommodations are available on the diocesan website. Childcare options will be offered Thursday evening and all day Saturday, with additional options available upon request during registration. Learn more and register here.
