The Diocese of Ohio is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion represented in the United States by The Episcopal Church.
The Episcopal Church of Ohio ministers in our Church and in our communities in many inspiring ways.
The Office for Ministry, working with the Bishop, assists parishes during the interim period in the search for new clergy leadership.
In an effort to assist in the ongoing development of clergy, various programs are offered throughout the year, for example, Clergy Days provide opportunities for clergy to gather with the Bishop. The annual Clergy Conference in May provides significant continuing education opportunities in addition to time for worship and building collegial relationships. Each June the Office for Ministry receives the annual record of salary from each church as stipulated in R1. It is also through the Office for Ministry that clergy report his or her participation in continuing education as stipulated in Canon III.9.1.
The Office for Ministry has oversight over the licensing of Worship Leaders, Lay Eucharistic Visitors, and Lay Eucharistic Ministers. Training can be done at the local Parish or Mission Area, or on request from this office.
The Office for Ministry works with the members of the Commission on Ministry, who advise and assist the Bishop in the work of discernment, formation and support for persons in Holy Orders, and to support the ministries of Lay Professionals in the Diocese of Ohio.
